Here is a diagram of what happens in the heart when A- fib occurs, and when the heart is normal. In the first heart there is pooling in the upper chambers, which can cause blood clots , and in the second heart there is not pooling in the upper chamber. These pictures actually showed the blood pumping through the heart, but when i downloaded them onto my blog they stopped being interactive. dang! they looked pretty cool when they showed the blood going in and out of the chambers so you just have to use your imagination. Just thought it was interesting to see.
