The infamous SOCK BASKET! What in the world was I thinking? Why did we have a sock basket that was loaded to the top with unmatched socks? Why did we spend many family home evenings with socks spread all over the floor, us in a circle around them, trying to match the stupid things? Why didn't some one stop the madness? Socks are cheap! Some of this nonsense came from the period of time when we all had to have colored socks that matched our outfits. I guess it evolved from that, but holy cow. What a dumb practice it was.
